pen shells in tank

Hi all,

I just obtained two large live pen clams: Atrina rigida.. and am wondering if anyone has had success keeping them. I had two a few years back and they did ok for several months but then died... but i had some predatory mollusks (muricidae) in the tank and figured that was what happened. My sand bed is not super deep...but just wondering if anyone has figured these out.
