My wife and I are planning to upgrade to a large Peninsula Tank. :D
We were planning to get a Red Sea, mainly because our friend has one and it was the first brand we heard about. However, we have the opportunity to purchase a used Waterbox for half price. (Either a 6025 or a 7225, both in good shape). We would love to hear from our fellow Reef2Reefers who've had both or have good insight and not just hearsay. We are interested in: which is quieter, which has better plumbing, which has a better stand, which has a better sump configuration, which company has better service, etc?
Also, regarding the bells and whistles, which are actually beneficial versus just cosmetic?
Not that price is of no consideration, however we plan to keep our tank for 10 to 15 years.
If the Red Sea is superior, we'll go that route.

No help here, however I like both. I am going with a WB 220.6. Very close to the same tanks. I think the RS hold a little more water. The savings in the used tank may sway your vote, but like me, you may like new stuff.

I've been pondering this question. The Waterbox is slightly more expensive which is a factor of course. Both are probably great choices. I see this as a Ford vs. Chevy argument but I can't decide. I am partial to Red Seas' design and philosophy. Wish I could find a nice used Red Sea 500 Peninsula.
