I just witnessed something I have never seen a peppermint shrimp do to my Mimic tang, cleaning service. I noticed the tang in a position near where the peppermint resides at sundown in my light schedule. I was confused as he never has sat there, in this tank, yet that I have seen. When they were in my rescue tank, they shared the same cave so I couldn't see if it was happening.

I knew that peppermint could do this but never thought I would see it... Cool thing to see as I was scared the peppermint was going to eat my bird's nest so I have been target feeding him.

Anyone else seen this from a peppermint?

I knew it was possible, but I've never seen it happen either.

One of my peppermints was cleaning one of my Bartlett Anthias last night. I don't see it happen very often but it occasionally does with some of my other fish.

My skunk cleaner jumps on my yellow tang frequently. Doesn't care much about my other fish.

He's been more interested in my zoas lately.

I have two in my tank(108 gal) and frequently see them cleaning the Coaral Beauty. Surprisingly these little guys get along with the large Coral Banded Shrimp as well. Peppermint shrimp are awesome at ridding a tank of Aiptasia as well! They have a pretty good spot in the tank that nothing can get to them and even the Harlequin Sweetlips leaves them along.... or hasn't found them yet.

I know late reply, but I just got a new blue powder tang today and it went in with a peppermint shrimp, and the BPT comes up like it’s a little swim thru cleaning station, and I know it’s doing it for the peppermint shrimp because I seen the peppermint shrimp there cleaning the BPT.
