But what I've been noticing from all your pics is that your clams are GIANT. Mine's just about 4 inches. Can size be a factor?

Yes, I would suspect that larger clams are much less sensitive than say a 3" Tridacna clam...

wow that sucks about that purple tang. It used to worry me when my clowns would hang out above my crocea so i ended up moving it away from their part of the tank.

i had my black perc host in my 8" squamosa... stressed it out real bad, so I had to moe the clam to another tank.
