Percula or Ocellaris?

I had two perculas and one jumped out of the tank last night. so today I went to get another percula to pair them up. It was labeled percula but when I put them together they are two completely different shades of orange. The new one is a very, very bright orange. As soon as he went in the tank, the male percula, and much bigger, grabbed his tail and pulled him. Now they are calmed down, only nipping a couple more times. There arent any displays of dominance. Could the new clown be an ocellaris? How can you tell besides counting the dorsal spines?
I'll work on getting a picture but so far they all come out blurry.

Normally, a mature perc will have much more pronounced black markings than an ocellaris.

anything other than that because its still a juevenal, the big thing that threw me off was the color

Yeah, color means nothing. A. percula also generally has a shorter dorsal. You should find out soon if the pairing will work out. If they don't settle down and get along within 48 hours they will most likely never get along. Good luck.

ok i was thinking that could just be what they were fed but if they settle down are they most likley both perc

If they start to hang out together without fighting they are most likely the same species and at least one still juvenile. If they are different species or both adults it rairly if ever works out.
