Pet store tanks

Ok y'all I went to a pet store that had tanks with large skimmers in them and no other filtration can a reef tank run like that for long periods of time

Was it fish only or did it have coral as well?

You have to look at it this way too, they are pretty much doing water changes continually. Every time the bag up a fish or coral they are removing water from the system that will have to be replaced eventually so this in a round about way is another way of cleaning the water.

Yeah three large reef tanks an two big troughs loaded down with frags

That's a good point about them constantly doing a water Change by them selling corals
