Ok. I also thought it looked healthy. If I do get it hopefully my light will help it. Maybe someone else can help with the dip question.Looks like a long tentacle anemone. Looks to be decently healthy best I can tell. It may or may not change color with proper lighting. I’ve bought plenty of BTAs and LTAs with no issue in the past, so if it looks good, I’d have no issue buying from Petco.
I honestly don’t know the dip question and will let someone with more experience answer that. I will say I’ve never dipped an anemone before.
Ok so no dip. Without quarantining it what is the best way to prevent pests like ich. Would the cipro work?No to dips for anemones people use cipro for bacterial issues with carpet anemones. Lta like this just temp acclimate and put on bottom glass clear sand around the area first turn off flow let attach for 2 hours and then slowly push sand back around it’s foot needs 3 inches. Then turn flow back on make sure it’s attached first.
Every thing looked great except for one hippo blue tang. That had him in a tank my himself self and said under observationit’s different for each petco it’s really about how good the CAL (Animal manager) and Aquatics specialist are. personally the petco near me is fantastic they order an amazing variety of saltwater fish and they even have coral and beautiful anemones
Yes only sand for lta they sometimes attach between rock and sand but always at the bottom unless you use a cup and add sand to it but they grow fast and don’t know if it would be easy to change cups. No theres no way to prevent ich with anemones unless you had a qt specifically set up for it before hand and it’s been running like I reef for a long time. The risk of ich or anything with anemones is very minimal don’t add the petco water with the anemone just gently grab it without squeezing and put it in.Ok so no dip. This type of nems only lives in sand? Or rock
Ok sounds good. You said it grows fast and gets big. How big? Is there enough room in my tank?Yes only sand for lta they sometimes attach between rock and sand but always at the bottom unless you use a cup and add sand to it but they grow fast and don’t know if it would be easy to change cups. You don’t think this nem at my petco is bleached?I don’t believe you can dip an anemone. My local Petco has had bleached anemones in the past.
