I am using the APEX with a pump and float switches as a ATO to add Kalk. I have is set to turn on for 10 sec every hour (pH and float switches permitting) and = about a cup or two of saturated Kalk mix.
My concern is that this will cause a pH spike of .05 to .1 My tanks pH likes to be around 7.85 so it does not spike out of high range but not uncommon to see a raise from 7.96 to 8.04. Then the pH will drop about .02 per hour until enough evaporation for the next dose. Usually a few hours. As a result my pH is slowly dropping 0.1 every 3 to four hours and than being shot right back up from ATO. and cycle is repeated.
Is this pH cycle to hard on my coral (mixed reef mostly LPS and SPS)?
