With all that you should have good pH. Do you stir the sand? And how is circulation on the bottom? Decaying stuff lowering pH?
Nvm you said it goes to 8, but it's still good practice to clean the sand and check for decaying stuff.

I level the sand every day and baste the rock , change out the floss every 3 days and empty the skimmer every 4-5 days so no crud building up anywhere I can reach
Oh and my door is open all day and night

I'd get new pH calibration buffers before going to extreme lengths to raise pH.

Just a quick question. I am not a scientist, chemist or biologist, so go easy if it is is a dumb question. If i connect an air pump to my skimmer is there any way of enclosing it in some kind of box, and putting any materials to filter out co2. If so, what materials would work for this. My ph sits at 7.8 mid afternoon with no way to introduce outside air. Just been running this through my head and wondered if it might be doable.

You are basically describing a CO2 scrubber. These are diy or commercial devices that pass air over CO2 removal media.

It’s one option. There’s no best as it is situation dependent. Running outside air to a skimmer or getting more fresh air into the room are good options.

I’ve got no room for a scrubber , I do run outside air amongst other things
