Hey guys, happy new year! My tank has been on the lower side of the acceptable pH (it's usually around 8.0, never higher). I purchased the SeaChem Marine Buffer, but haven't started to use it yet, as I was waiting to test after my water change. Anyone have any advice or experience with the product?

Current stock:

Picasso Trigger
Pinkface Wrasse
Yellow Bellied Hippo Tang
Yellow Tang
Lionfish
Cinnamon Clown

Thanks!

Marine buffer is an alkalinity supplement. It will give a temporary boost to PH but also increase your ALK. This should not be used in a reef tank.

Without corals. your PH is absolutely fine for your fish.

Perfectly said.

I would add that I wouldn't test pH in a fish-only tank.
