I’ve seen that using a glass PH probe like the Milwaukee MA991 on the Hydros X10/iV yields better results, can the same be translated to the Kamoer KH Carer probe?

Glass as opposed to what?

The body of a pH probe is not needed to be glass for good function and plastic materials are less prone to break.

Most pH probes have a glass bulb at the sensing tip, and I would not get other materials unless there was an unusual reason.

The Hydros X10/iV had originally came with a standard American Marine probe, and after some research/observation they have started to come with the Milwaukee MA991 as mentioned, I believe due to it being better in terms of responsiveness to the reagent that is dosed, I’d have to tag @JeffB418 for details however.

That said, the probe that came with my KH Carer has started to drift and have higher calibration numbers and I’m looking at replacing it shortly. If the MA991 is in fact better/more accurate with the KHC I’ll get one.

Reviving this as I am interested in getting a good Ph probe for my Hydros. What i best current recomendation?

I’ve seen no noticeable difference in between a glass probe or a plastic one in my Hydros setup. Hydros will tell you to get the glass one. In my opinion my KH Carer is a superior alk testing machine over my X10, and it uses a plastic probe. So, take that for what it’s worth. Just get whatever one you feel like getting.
