Having a problem with low ph. I have a protein skimmer with co2 scrubber, no glass on top, alk 8.6 mag 1400 cal at 425 ph fluctuates from about 8.1 to 7.9 but won't stay stable. Any help or suggestions would be great

Ph is a measurement of the amount of Hydrogen + charged particles.

The measurement swings up during lights ON .... and downward during lights OFF.

The only time I pay attn to pH is if it suddenly drops from 7.9/8.0 to like 7.4

That kind of drop tells me smthg has happened....like possibly a bunch if RODI water floading the tank via a failed topoff system

Never has dropped lower then 7.9 in any of my testing

I use red sea alk and red sea calcium for dosing, air into skimmer passes through co2 scrubber. Apex ph prob and handheld ph tester.
