My normal pH is 7.7 and 8.0 when I open windowsNot ideal, but may not pose an immediate danger assuming it has been a long standing issue or has happened slowly over time. Given your reaction I am assuming your tank does not normally run that low (or this is the first time testing it which is fair haha)? What is your normal pH?
ITS USELESS!!!Buffer? You need good aeration and to open some windows
Yeah kind of, it's high because it's a small house yet my freshwater tank has still very high pHDo you happen to know the CO2 levels in your house with the windows open and closed?
You haven't got much saltwater in that sample, are you sure you've complied with the instructions? You can't just add alkalinity buffers to raise pH indefinitely, it'll just send your alkalinity through the roof. This is my pH at night, and it scared me alot because I just found out, will this kill my invertebrates or live rock?ill get the buffer soon
Sorry - I'm asking about the numbers. For example, inside my office where I am right now, the CO2 levels are 461 with the windows closed (and they've been closed all day - it's 1030pm here).Yeah kind of, it's high because it's a small house yet my freshwater tank has still very high pH
I did a "secret method" on my salifert test, where I can use 1 drop to be accurate enough and saves 500 tests, but nevermind, what I wanted to buy is the strachem pH "buffer" or easier, JBL pH plusYou haven't got much saltwater in that sample, are you sure you've complied with the instructions? You guys have this tool? Never though about it but I'll buy it if I find itSorry - I'm asking about the numbers. For example, inside my office where I am right now, the CO2 levels are 461 with the windows closed (and they've been closed all day - it's 1030pm here).
That's pretty normal for my house and they don't drop too much when the windows are open. Outside it's about 421.
Ok, can you just do the test properly in case the reagent is overwhelming the sample, just this one time?I did a "secret method" on my salifert test, where I can use 1 drop to be accurate enough and saves 500 tests, but nevermind, what I wanted to buy is the strachem pH "buffer" or easier, JBL pH plus

Do NOT use any kind of “ph buffer”I did a "secret method" on my salifert test, where I can use 1 drop to be accurate enough and saves 500 tests, but nevermind, what I wanted to buy is the strachem pH "buffer" or easier, JBL pH plus

They will just make your other parameters go all wonky.
You are welcome, lol. What is your Alkalinity at?I SWEAR IT WAS ACCURATE BEFORE,
8.3 after dosing sodium bicarbonateYou are welcome, lol. What is your Alkalinity at?
