Ph8's 225 build

Sorry for the late reply on this one Hunter. My first one was a Juvie and was a very easy going fish, this time around I opted for a large male from DD and he is a beast and lets everyone know it. He's grown so fast.

Haha, guys I haven't broke out the camera for a while and the Cannon I was borrowing got taken away. Someday Im gonna have to get my own. Ill try to get some pics up sometime this weekend. I've been pretty disheartened since I lost the Regal and it took out my copperband that was in QT at the same time. In fact I just got my QT all disinfected and re setup this morning. Im getting back on the horse as usual but sometimes this hobby pushes my buttons a bit.

Your telling me about pushing buttons, ha. Sorry for hear about the 2 loses. You'll accomplish it brother, no doubting that.

I'm still rocking a camera phone for pics! Lol.

Holy crap you've got some nice wrasses dude! So jealous!

Thanks Brad, I too rocked the phone for pics for quite a while. That Regal had issues from the begining and the fish store completely blamed me for killing it. They offered to replace it if I put the next one straight in my display and skipped the QT and I told them I couldn't do it. Live and learn I guess but my next one will come from somewhere else. Hopefully I can find a DD one eventually.

I've heard some Attenuatus flashers have been coming in. hope you got one bro. :)

I sure did Marvin, he's been QT'd and is living happily as king of the flashers. I've tried getting pics a few times but I have yet to get a decent shot of him. I've been more into flashers lately then fairies, I'm on the hunt for a bells now.

Marvin, here is a terrible shot of him. He has gotta be the hardest fish to get a pic of ever.

Yours did exactly what mine did; got VERY dark all along the back, like I've seen in one before. Neat.

I'm on my way to having 3 johnsoni males the way they're headed...

Hey Hunter, yeah he's always been really dark. It's kinda a cool difference from all the other orangish red ones and nice contrast to his belly colors. I ended up with two Mccoskers, one was supposed to be s carpenters. One is the orange color I'm used to and one is more red. Is this a collection location difference or just individual fish?

That's about my experience with females, is it causing any issues?

But mine didn't have any of the dark/black markings when I got him. I have a picture of him in the acclimation box without such (still haven't taken it off the camera) and within a week he was black along the back.

The difference on the McCoskers could be either really; the ones from Kenya tend to have some darker markings. Beyond that, I don't know of any regional "norms" with them.

No issues; with 14 wrasses in there (17 fish total) there's enough distractions. I always say I'm done with females and pairs/trios, but every year or so I seem to try it again with the same result. What's the definition of insanity? :)

LoL Hunter. They always tend to turn male but IME, as long as they were put in the tank at the same time, there is an understanding on who's boss.

Brett, the Attenuatus I got a while back started as bright red/orange but tured darker as he matured. So looking forward to seeing everyone's Attenuatus progress.. Almost made me want to start hunting for a "few" F&F again. I settled to watching my old vids. ;)

Brett, glad to see your Attenuatus is doing well and congrats on your Johnsoni!

Beautiful new fish, Brett!

Thank you. I gotta admit though I still get jealous every time I see pics of your choati.

That is funny Hunter, mine was pretty dark right off the bat. He's not like any of the other wrasses personality wise either. He pretty much took over the top of the hierarchy, well except for the much larger fairies that pay no attention to him.

I can't wait for you to get the bug again Marvin, your wrasse tank was one of my favorites ever.

Thanks M&T, hope all is going well with you two.

I went to a Halloween party last night and came home to my ATO stuck in the on position. Luckily I was up late and caught it before it got too bad. I ordered a new ATO from Avast this morning, always loved everything else from them.

Must have been the night because my switch did the same. 7.5 gallons on mine. Glad you could catch yours also. .
