My phosphate is high, do you think putting aragonite in a bag like carbon could solve the problem?

If so, could the aragonite be recharged with acid or something?

GFO mixed with carbon in a bag will help lower phosphate. Change the bag out more often for greater effect.

If this were to even work, you'd need much more sand in mass and volume than the equivalent in GFO. Then if you're even thinking about recharging it with acid then washing it afterwards, this would be a massive time sink.

Not worth it in all aspects.

I've heard negative things like coral shriveling up from GFO, maybe that's the exception not the rule.

I keep 2 bags in my sump with GFO and carbon and change one every 2 weeks. Never had a problem with corals.

Running GFO passively in a bag is more gentle than a reactor. Mixing with carbon keeps the GFO from clumping.
