Original Image submitted. User asked if there was a way to lighten the dog up a bit.

There are 2 ways to attempt this. The first way is to use a "Dodge" tool in a photo editing program. Basically the Dodge tool lightens up a selected area. The second way is to do a composite of 2 images. You lighten the dog in one version, and combine that with the lighter version of the tank. I did a rough edit (meaning I didn't utilize my stylus to cleaning combine the edges), but it will give you an idea. Because alot of the dog is darker, it is hard to lighten it much without making it look washed out or heavily manipulated - the data just isn't there. To fix this while taking the picture, you can try adding a little bit of light on the dog from a different angle than the tank light.

In this original, the picture has a very BLUE hue.

In the edited version, the color balance was adjusted using a photo editing software. You can remove the blue hue by adding more red/orange to the color balance. Some photo editing softwares actually have a white balance option that will allow you to click on something "white" in the photo, and will adjust the tone of the entire pic from there.
