No I use a rack shelf system my strips are attached to. My various starter cultures sit on the shelf and I move them closer to the lights as they come up and get denser. When you start them, keep them further away so they don’t shock

Sorry for all the questions BTW. Can you let me know specifically what strips you bought?
I just looked at the them and I don’t see a brand on them. They’re a few years old already. They’re 30” long, they can be daisy chained together. I think any sort of horticultural led strip light from 3500k- 10k will be fine. These microalgaes are plants and they love full spectrum light

Hope I'm not intruding but can I ask why someone would cultivate phytoplankton? I know it's beneficial in some way, but is dosing daily or weekly helpful, or is it if you have specific fish or coral that eat it. I think it's really interesting so i'm wondering if it would actually be worth it for me?

It is. There are concentrated brand and then truly live phyto. It helps pods and filter feeders. You'll see better growth with life phyto. Also will help with phosphates.

Best of luck. Keep us updated
Hello. I got my bottle of t-iso galbana today. Going to start a culture either today or tomorrow. I forgot to ask, how aggressive are you bubbling the culture? Also, if I don't start it tonight, would it be OK to keep in my fridge overnight?

Thanks

You can. You can also just leave it in a cool place until tomorrow. Much of it depends on the culture and how old it is. You should be fine though
