Alright so I have 2 Cultures showing issues that I wanted to get some opinions on.
This was last night: I have just started the Rhodomonas culture a few days ago as well as just starting the T-Iso (right container with a barely yellow hue)
Today I get home and this is what I have:
Now lets give the photos credit where its due, in the picture I took last night I did have the back light off. So I can confirm a few things, the Green phyto is absolutely darker, and so is the rhodomonas.
Now to the situations im having and whats baffling me.
The T-Iso has for the second time just gone white. I dont understand why considering I was more confident about this culture doing well then I was the rhodomonas. Does this culture need to start off darker and more concentrated???
As for the rhodomonas, its not as red as I would have thought. More yellow / brown. Could this be a lighting issue?
Heres what I did:
I steralize the jars using rubbing alcohol on everything, glass, lid, tubing, connections, everything. Then I take fresh saltwater and boil it for a few minutes (I do wait until its boiling before timing it), dump it in the jar still hot, and let it cool. Once it hits room temperature I connect the tubing, put in around 3-4 ml of F/2, and add the start phyto. The saltwater starts around 1.022 salinity when I start boiling but I dont check after because honestly not that much water is missing once im done so I figure its close.
Any help would be loved and feel free to ask me question, I will answer to the best of my ability.
