I've got a phytoplankton culture running and have done my 2nd harvest. Something that's becoming clear to me is that my production is exceeding the demand I have currently. I've been using half of the existing culture to seed the next, but is it possible to harvest the entire culture - refrigerate it for some time, the begin culturing again once I need more?

Basically, my question is after storing a culture in the fridge (separate containers) is it possible to restart in the future?

I received some two week old Phyto that I started a new culture with. It worked, but only short term.

I would imagine that, if kept in the fridge, fed occasionally, and stirred to keep it from settling it could work but fresher cultures will be the better option.
