Hello everyone!

So I ran out of fertilizer, f/2, and now I’m in a pinch to not crash my culture. Does anyone know of any big box store fertilizers I can use beside trying miracle grow. I’m not try to kill my fry.

Thank you, and have a great day!

Just order more. If you need to split the culture in the mean time just split it. A split or two without fertilizer shouldn’t kill it. Though depends on what you use for salt. Is it salt for fish tanks?

I agree with @sde1500 in that you should be able to split your culture and get a few days before it will start to diminish. Especially if you're culturing almost any of the Nannochloropsis phytos as they are pretty resilient.

I even had a huge bloom of N. oculata in my aquarium after an accidental overdose when splitting my cultures - obviously no f/2 goes in my reef tank.

Just order some and as long as you have it within a week you should be ok.

Could I potentially use skim mate in the mean time?
I would not recommend it, salt for mixing for our aquariums contains some NO3 and PO4, which will provide enough nutrients to get you through until your f/2 gets in.
