Just a standard camera app, the red cup helps to cancel out come of the blue light from the LEDs.

I just use a petri dish. The cup idea is pretty awesome though but i like my dishes cause they float around and i use them for more than just photos

Yeah, the porthole idea has been around for a while -- not really much difference between that and the petri dish and i got mine for free.
