Hi all

Could use an opinion on this. 3.5” long pink spotted Goby, received 2/6, a5 min FW dip (fluke free) , 90 minute ruby reef rally dip, then into a 10g QT with 60mg/G Chloroquine Phosphate . Has been eating marine feast and mysis mixed with selcon from day 1. Required an 80% water change on 8/12 because the ammonia alert badge ‘might’ have been trending to green (no active biofilter for CP QT due to biodegradation issues, just a course filter for mechanical filtration) .

Photo on day 1

Today- I notice he appears to have a bloody mouth, like he bit his lip or something, and there’s a small bubble like a smooth skin tag on his lower lip that wasn’t there previously

Overall, color seems good and is acting normal.

Any ideas? Bacterial?

In CP since 2/6, so 8 days.

I was planning exactly what you suggested- rally dip for the antiseptic properties, then ABX in a new tank

Thanks for the advice.

He’s now had a RRR bath, ave is in the 10g hospital tank with Furan-2, metroplex and kanaplex. Hob filter and an air stone on a pump for a 40g.

Fingers crossed

Thanks

How the heck did you get him to behave so good in his mugshots! Impressive! Hopefully he will recover quickly :)

I think whatever he has made him lethargic. Hardly saw him swimming about while in CP for 10 days.

He’s in a 10g with some pvc pipes, as I didn’t want to add substrate- since bio-adsorption will screw with the therapeutic levels.

Ok, quick update.

Pinky has been in the 10g with ‘Trifecta’ Abx for 9 days at this point. Tomorrow is 10, and Wednesday is a move to a clean tank.

I’d say an 90% improvement. Definitely eating better, more active, can’t sit still enough for a good pic. But still a touch of redness in that area.

Problem is- I have 2 packets of furan-2 left. So I can’t add additional days, without a break in between.

Any issue with stopping on schedule and observing for a few days before move to DT?
