Pink Streaked Wrasse acting werid

Hi guys,

Last week my tank got nuked by my doser falling into the sump. I've since added cuprisorb and polyfilter alongside 25% water changes for 5 days straight. Most of my fish were able to recover except for my pink streaked wrasse. He was fine a couple of days ago swimming around like usual but now he's acting weird, not eating or hiding, and sitting in the corner.

I don't think aggression is the issue as my other guys are all very peaceful. I do have a possum wrasse but I haven't seen any aggression what so ever. They sorta just stay on their sides of the tank and don't interact.

Unfortunately I am on vacation at the moment so I cannot tell you the parameters of the tank. I only know that the salinity is 1.025

What material was in the doser? I imagine all of that got released at once?
What was the cuprisorb intended to do?
How long have you had this wrasse?

Wrasse has been around for a year and a bit.

Cuprisorb and polyfilter was used because the doser completely rusted in the sump and released a bunch of garbage after being in there overnight. They both became blue after a day.

There wasn't anything dosing at the time. I just was connecting it to wifi then went to bed.

The super strange thing to me is that he was completely fine and exploring during the entire 5 days of water changes and what not but suddenly (the day after I left for a vacation) he started acting this way

Well, an ICP test would tell you if there are toxic metal ions present, but that takes time and money to do.

Here is a thought - ionic copper could have been released from the doser. The copper then binds to calcareous material in the tank. This is the slowly released back into the water, especially if the pH drops. The poly filter and water changes may have kept up on that, but when those stopped, the copper level rose to the point where the wrasse is being affected. HOWEVER, if the tank has invertebrates in out and they are fine, you can rule out all thoughts of metallic toxicity since the invertebrates are a lot more sensitive to this than fish are.

That's another strange thing - initially nearly all my inverts and corals died. The few snails that made it through are out and about and the corals that survive are bouncing back.

Not sure what to tell you then - snails are a lot more sensitive to metal ions than fish are. The wrasse issue may be a red herring, and not directly related to the doser issue?

Looks like it was a red herring. Now is figuring out how to treat the tank I guess. Any idea what exactly this is? I'm assuming velvet.
