Pistol shrimp hiding in rock

Hi guys, has anyone ever had a problem with Randall’s pistol shrimp living on rock ?
I put him in about 3 days ago and he went right into a hole on the top of my rockwork and has been coming out to get food and not pairing with my orange stipe goby bought with it.. he has not been on the sand bed yet.

That's what they do, they live in the rock. If you're worried you can make sure to squirt some food into or in front of his burrow/tunnel.

I thought they made tunnels and caves in the sand bed ? I’ve just yet to see him leave the one spot

He may, eventually. If the various sizes pieces of rubble are available.
