This weekend i have gotten all equipment finally finished and wiring completed done. (Until I decide to add something else)đź«  Pushed tank into place and will check level tomorrow.

Picked up 300 lbs of sand. Decided to go with a mix of special grade and fiji pink. More special grade though. Also Picked up 400 lbs of rock. Gave them a good bath and soaked in muriatic acid and man does that stuff work well. Going to start On rockscape soon. Buddy of mine climbed in and helped finish up wiping down the inside. Then we got rocks in place. I'm horrible when it comes to rock scape. I had something much different in my mind but this will do. Plenty of swim throughs, caves, and places to mount coral. Filling it with rodi water currently. May wait till next hitch home from work to fill all the way though

WELL ITS FLOWING! Couldn't figure it why it was filling so slow. Ended up being a clogged membrane. Tds before di resin was only 20 so didnt think it was that but sure enough was. Added salt through filter sock over 2 days. Added some microbactr start xlm and they cycle is under way.

Do you have a few 'dream fish' in mind?
Large angels. Emperor has been a goal for a while. Blue face. Queen and a few others. Im going to attempt to keep them with some sps and possibly euphyllia. I'll see if and what they eat. Also would loooove a naso with streamers and a unicorn tang.

I had a full grown Emperor, and I absolutely love the Blue Face. I think a Unicorn Tang would eventually need to be re-homed to the Living Reef restaurant, at Disney! LOL.

The uglies have hit! Diatoms and a bacteria bloom showed up in the last few days. Have a CUC order coming in tomorrow from reef cleaners.

Also picked up 2 more xr30 gen 4s. Just waiting for my mounts to be printed for them.

Quick update. Today I finally got a Gem Tang and blonde naso with streamers. They are gonna spend some time in qt before they make it to the tank.

Also recently made an insane trade for a full apex system. Had a friend print me a trident mini in colors that matched my Equipment and plumbing. Did the DIY self service kit on it as well. Got it all up and running today. Just need 1 more eb832 and dos units. Once I have everything I need I'll do some more wire management. Fun🙄

I just purchased my dream 8ft tank second hand. Wanted to document the build along the way. Going to be a couple weeks before its ready for water but I plan on doing some neat stuff. Tank is a planet aquarium 96x30x30. Rimless top and bottom with acrylic bottom panel. Has seam guards and eurobracing.

So far I have gotten the tank in my house in a spot I can work from front and back. With 8 people this was still an insane nightmare but its in. Got it cleaned up pretty good so far.

Equipment i have so far
- tideline 48 sump
- 6 radion xr30 gen 4 pros. Possibly adding more
- Skimmer is a reef octo regal 300
- 3 mp40qd wave makers
- 2 jebao mcp-180 gyres
- jebao dct 15000 return pump
- inkbird with 2 600 watt titanium heaters
- 20 gallon tall tank for ato

For the lights I am building a mount from extruded aluminum and have a friend 3d printing mounts for the radions. Hes also printing holders for all power bricks and controllers.

Being its a 8ft tank I am making extensions cables for 1 of the mp40s, possibly the others if needed, and have got extension cables for the skimmer and jebao gyre.

I wrapped the back of sump black and 3 sides of ato black aswell. The plan there was to help hide wires as much as possible. I will attempt to run all wires through a cable raceway all the way to a custom slide out control board. Should be starting to build that control board next week.
Plan is sump in the middle, ato on the left, and control board on the right with some extra room for whatever

All plumbing has been ordered so will post pics of that when I get home from work next week.

For sand my plan is 5 bags of special grade and 2 bags of fiji pink. 300 lbs worth should net me 2 inch sand bed.

Still unsure on how I would like to do my aquascape.

The plan is large angels and tangs, and possibly adding frags of stuff i have in other tanks and see what will last. Would love to have coral in it but I think id prefer the big angels.

I will be updating with pictures as I get things done. Super excited to get this one going.

Any ideas and or tips are welcomed.

Looking good! A lot of work, and it will definitely be worth it. My 11 year old son & I 3d printed radion xr15 holders and controller holders for various equiptment. Really satisfying to be able
To make something that contributes to your reef. Can’t wait to see it completed. Great work
