If I have a tower, and attach a plating monti frag, initially it looks like a bowl held sideways like you are pouring something out of bowl. Will it later grow to shoot strait out like the orientation we normally see?

I would like to have the monti grow so that its oriented in a normal bowl position meaning the big plate faces up. But do I have to cut the monti and plug in half then glue it to side of tower so that its oriented the correct way from beginning? Sorry this was hard for me to word!

If you attach to the side, then it will grow out and spiral upwards toward the light. it will take some time for it to take shape. I suggest doing it towards the bottom of the tower as it will shade out everything below.
Thanks, so I can attach the plug flat on the rock like normal and the plating monti will eventually grow strait out at 90 degrees (not in orientation of plug)?

Depends on how fast you want it to grow. Higher up with more PAR, it’ll grow quicker. More towards the bottom, it won’t grow as quick. I keep my orange monti cap on the gravel, because they do grow very quickly and I don’t want it to overshadow things.
