My Tank Thread
I have been doing this for over 30 years, so I've seen amphipods on more coral than I can count, and I can assure you that if you had amphipods eating your coral either they are a species that I, and many others, have never seen, or your coral had decaying tissue, and they were eating that. I assure you that amphipods are good, and are ONLY scavengers. They are great CUC and fish food and will not eat live healthy coral.I entirely disagree. Have you ever seen or had amphipods on a coral? If so, you would know that they do eat corals. I have seen this first hand, on a healthy, new coral. I watched them take bites. This lasted for several days until I fw dipped the coral and stuck it in a bowl that amphipods couldn’t get into, where the coral opened again.
