Lastly, does any one know what type of external worm/parasite this is? Not the greatest pics but it' a video and that fish actually died

Its hard to tell. Does not look fake. But either way it will all blend in eventually. I'e always been a fan of branch rock.

I'm thinking that because it' not as porous as the other live branch rock and it's very white, the purple kind of looks painted, I like it but I think I might rather replace it with live rock under it

Can you post more pics of this fish? Closeups of the parasite/affected area would be great.

Just because it isn't as porous doesn't mean it's fake, could just be a different type of rock. The purple looks like healthy coraline algae to me. I would just slow down a little and let the tank settle.

Have you checked out some of the sticky threads here? They have some great information about tank cycling and adding new livestock to keep the tank happy and safe for all the inhabitants
