Need ID this black hair like small worms all over my tank. Like hundreds of them. I searched everywhere and couldn’t find anything, even use AI. They only appear when lights are off hiding from the sand and disappear with lights on.
Can anyone please tell me what is going on here? Do I need to try to vacuum the things out? I also see some copepods hanging out with them. Please let me know cause my water changes this weekend. Do I need to do a heavy vacuum or just water change. I believe my clowns have been eating them...
So I was just checking my tank to see if I could see some pods in the sand and I seen a few but I also seen a bunch of these worm looking creatures that are eating the algae. Possibly bristle worms? I just want to know if they are good or bad!?!
I’ve noticed a branching like pattern coming up from my sand bed on the glass that looks like little hairs once in a while the past few months.
Looking closer they seem to be 1-2cm single worms moving in a group like an ant colony. They don’t seem to mess with any coral or my pod population but...
They came in on some live rock and they really really unsettle me
Are there any fish that eat bristle worms? so I dont just end up with more later on
Also do people like keeping them?
I'd happily give the larger ones to anyone who wants them (SF / Daily city) California
Thanks
Hi all,
I started treating my fish for ick and added them to a QT running coppersafe. I also medicate their food with metroplex, ketoplex, and focus. I also add selcon and garlic. Yesterday I notice a long white worm looking like thing I attached an example white worm I saw one probably like...
I have been watching these forums for a good while, but never have posted so this is my first post. I’ve recently had a very small worm hitchhike into my tank. Initially I noticed in in the sand and it was reaching out and hitting an amphipod. It didn’t appear as if it was trying to catch it...
My reef aquarium (90 Gal) was neglected while my wife and I were traveling for about 18 months. Of course the corals all died leaving one yellow headed jawfish, one yellow watchman goby, a banggai cardinalfish, one small hermit crab and a lot of algae. The fish all seem happy and eat what...
I was having a clownfish in my 2 feet tank, All of a sudden it jumped out and died. Later I bought and around 5 clown fishes, it all died within a week.
Later I found some little things were swimming in the tank and it multiplied so much. Then i took a drop of water and looked at it under...

Hello everyone
So in the beginning of February I broke down my 75 gallon display tank bleached all the live rock except for one that had a mushroom coral attached to it. In preparation for my 125 gallon upgrade. I removed some substrate along with that rock to house long tentacle, my bubble tip...
The video shows one (there are several, at least on this rock) white/transparent worm. I have never seen one of these before. I saw them at night - maybe they are nocturnal and come out of the cave when it is dark. Cam can be called and how harmful, beneficial.
I keep finding these sand covered noodles at random spots in my tank. Are they spunk? Worms? Poop? They don’t move but I have no idea were they come from.
Alright what the heck is this thing now. He's been hanging out in my gsp and I took him out cause I just don't know what it is. Friend or foe. Do I put him back?
Its like a worm but has these tentacles. And he's made a casing around himself.
Are these bristleworm larvae? When fragging 2 leptoseris corals, I've found families of these worms living inside (between coral and frag plug). The corals that were fragged were in good health, but worms living in corals is never really a good thing in this hobby. Just trying to correctly ID...
Hi guys,
I have noticed a few salt crystals or something of the sort and I was trying to figure out what they were when I noticed one had tons of tiny black dots on it. I pulled it out of the tank and then put it in a scope and it looks like maybe they are tiny black tube worms or something. I...
I clean my tanks multiple times and rid all tanks of sand went bare bottom.
Still I find worms wiggling through the water column but only after feeding frozen mysis shrimp. Anyone else experience this or is it cheaper brands of fish/coral food that is careless with product quality?
Anyone...
Every few days my back wall is covered in these things & in a few small random sections of the tank and sump. They stick on as well. Is it a bacteria or something more sinister.
Hello Everyone
This is a thread to hopefully finally figure out what these strange worms are. These have appeared in many threads in the past several years but so far we have no true ID , as it seems they are becoming more prevalent in our systems , I thought I would put together one final...
