I have been watching these forums for a good while, but never have posted so this is my first post. I’ve recently had a very small worm hitchhike into my tank. Initially I noticed in in the sand and it was reaching out and hitting an amphipod. It didn’t appear as if it was trying to catch it, but only hitting it to get away. It is currently about the same size as an amphipod and has very similar coloring as well. I tried to catch it that night but it eluded me and got into a rock. It has now found a small hole in the rubble on a yellow polyp frag and is holed up inside. I do not see any segments at all and it is still about the size of an amphipod. I only count 4 antennae on it and I do not see any segments, but again it is very small. It sits in the hole and all I can see are the antennae which twitch constantly. Every now and again it will quickly dart out (without its whole body leaving) to grab a passing food particle. My big fear is that it is some sort of Eunice worm and my plan is put the small rock that the coral is in into a bowl with tank water and to use a small needle syringe to inject club soda into the hole. If this doesn’t work I’m going to have to scrap the whole plug it’s inside of. I don’t want to scrap it if it is not anything dangerous, but I’m completely willing too. I tried to take a picture, but it’s so small that my camera won’t focus on the antennae. Also, the yellow polyps directly above where it is appear to be is disarray. This may be coincidence or from the worm.

Also I don’t know I this helps or not, but it is not only active at night, it is also active during the day as far being slightly outside of it’s hole.
