I was looking at my tank when I noticed my sexy shrimp was caught in the tentacles of my bubble coral. The sexy shrimp repeatedly got away and then swam directly back into the bubble coral. I could tell something wasn't right so I catch the sexy shrimp with my hands and it almost seemed stunned. I then put the shrimp in a fish net that I have resting in the tank and it is still alive. All my other shrimp and inverts are as happy as can be. Is the shrimp just stunned from the bubble coral or do you think it is his time "to go"? :(
Thank you!!

Mine like to hang out around the anemone and other soft corals. I doubt it's hurt but you never know. Actually I believe they are called sexy anemone shrimp. Cool little shrimp and fun to watch. Incredibly quick too.

Yes, they are really cool to watch. I was just worried because the bubble coral looked like it was trying to eat the sexy shrimp and a couple times the shrimp had to pull really hard to get away from the bubble coral

The shrimp is doing much better this morning. I left him in the net that I have hanging in the tank over night. Yesterday, I could touch the shrimp with no reaction from it whatsoever and this morning it is going back to its usual sexy shrimp self :D

They're naturally hosted by maxi-mini carpet anemones and probably a few others - It was likely trying to use the bubble as a host.

It was trying to use the bubble tip as a host. I was wondering if the bubble tip was hurting the shrimp in anyway. I guess it doesn't matter that much now because the sexy shrimp died this morning :(

Ouch.

Sorry to hear that, Baby Ray. They're neat little shrimp.

I don't know how powerful bubble corals' stings are, nor whether they're different in some fundamental way from the 'nems that sexies usually hang out on. Maxi-minis have a fairly strong grip, and can easily ensnare unwary fish . . .

I think he died mostly from old age because I know they don't live very long and I had him in my tank for over a year and there is no telling how old he actually was
