I can't figure this out, I've been trying to learn about adequate light for my corals and anemones but for some reason it's to far confusing for me. Can anyone please help me, my anemones seems to be reaching out for more lighting and in need of something better. I have a 56 gallon tank, here some pics to better explain my situation. Can anyone please tell me what should I look for in light, type. Please explain simple so I can understand, I cannot figure this light thing at all, thank you in advance.

From what i understand, lighting comes in a few options. First of all, they come in Flourescents, metal halides, and leds. They are then grouped into low output ( sometims seen as LO) and high output ( HO). I beleive anemones and corals need high output. After that, there is some breakdown for dlourescents. They com in T5 or T8, with T5 being the most powerful. Idk if that specification is in the other two optiomns. So basically, you want flourescent lights that have HO and are T5 specifications.
Also, i just looked at your pic of your lighting hood so it looks like your good to go there. However, are the bulbs correct for coral and anemone growth? Most corals and anemones need blue light i think? That or a combonation of blue and white lights. Bulbs are sold with different specifications to what you have in your tank i beleive.
Personally i think they look fine, they seem to have settled in some spots that have prime lighting. However, since i own no anemones and have no personal experience i cant totally answer if theyre okay or not. Im sure someone with more experience will reply soon enough. Sorry >_< but your setup does look very nice!
Yea that shows it fine. It lookslike the water flow is fine, however, perhaps moving it around or getting another one might help? Idk for sure, ive no experience with waterflow besides what ive read, all i know is that they need adequate water flow to survive, and that some need faster flow than others. So i suppose it could be that your powerhead is too weak, but that depends on the anemone and corals your keeping. If it isnt that, then it would be your lighting, if anything is wrong. Who knows, maybe theyre just growing really fast? Lol idk. This is a bit out of my feild of experince, but it seems like that if there is a problem its one of those two things. Wish i could help more :(
Lighting is only one piece of the puzzle. What are your water parameters? Alk, Ca, Mg, salinity, temp, nitrate, phosphate. Also, how old is your tank? It's usually not a good idea to introduce anenomes into newer tanks as they realy need stable water paremeters and newer tanks tend to take a little while before they stablize.

I watched my water cycled by testing daily. Do water changes once a week about 10 to 15% and the tank is about 4 months old. Salt is 1.023-026. Amonia, nitrates are 0 and nitrites are kept 0 or minimal with water changes. Water temp is 75-76.

Possibly doubling up would work.. Just my observation, I am no expert.. Maybe someone else will chime in.
I have the aquatic life 4 bulb HO t5 with moonlighting fixture. It sells for $299 new.
Maybe look at Marine Depot for a light if your store has limited options.
