Please ID my dinos

Torches, Hammers and frogspawns won't survive in my tank either, i have one frogspawn that was my very first bought coral that is doing great though...go figure. I got plenty of different nems though, they are not bothered by the dinos. Maybe there are other issues that contribute to those not surviving.
Have you ever had an ICP test done?
Half a year ago my tank was going downhill, corals dying,receding, bailing out.
My phosphates were up to 0.8 and nitrates near 40, ph was below 8. I was dosing vodka what made the dying even worse.
Then i had a hard look at the tank, i sold all my hydra 32s and reverted to t5, stoped dosing vodka, i started dosing kalkwasser that raised the ph and supposedly helps with nutrients too and is part of my alk and calcium dosage. I reduced feeding 2 sheets nori per day to 2 sheets nori per week but raised the amount of frozen food. My phosphates are now 0.2 and nitrates 5, i even had to dose nitrates recently. My corals are happier than ever, no more deaths, hardly any receding corals. It's just an example but things can change without ripping everything appart. I should try actually another torch one day, maybe it survives now.

How much manual removal have you done?

I don’t do much manual removal except I turkey baster once a day.

Have you ever had an ICP test done?

Yes, many times. The last ones were in march/april last year. There was nothing major but I corrected all the values noted on the ICP test report.

It looks like you’re on the right path. That’s where I am trying to go now. Unfortately the last 3-5 weeks had a big impact on my corals and many look like they are dying right now.

I adjust my alk, mag and calcium yesterday, which must be part of the problem. Alk was 7.0, mag 1240 and calcium 435. I have to retest today and adjust again if need be.

I will also resume dosing All for Reef, which I had to stop during the dino-x treatment. I bought some more bacteria and I will buy some more phyto. And when I start seeing some diatoms and/or algae, I will buy a new CUC. This takes time.

Manual removal is so important with dinos. Instead if dosing any more quick cures(chemicals) get yourself a 5 micron filtersock. When you syphon the dinos of the rocksput the other end of the hose through the filtersock in the sump, so the water stays in the system but a lot of the dinos in the filtersock. Repeat as often as you can. No more chemicals means your balance in the tank should come back and hopefully diatoms and algae take over the realestate, by sucking the dinos out you reduce their load and create realestate for other things. I did that every 2nd day with prorocentrum.

Im still not sure… So you place the end with the plastic tube in the display and the small end in the sump. You fill the small end it with the water descending in the sump and it will move up and fill the hose and then you can put it down in the display and start syphoning ?

Like I said, I’m a disaster when it comes to starting a syphon…

@Kmst80 what sand are you using ?

Someone in a reefing group has a theory that this particular sand (which I have exclusively been using for years) causes dinos. He put a different kind in a corner of his tank and it remained clear of dinos.

I had the fine sand in my very first tank and it didn't take long for me to get rid of it coz it was blowing all over the tank. Now i use a mixture of 3-5mm crushed aragonite mixed with bigger pieces to make it look more natural.
Never heard of sand causing dinos though. I know dinos like fine surfaces, in one thread i read to hank a piece of filter floss in the tank and voila dinos will grow on it and it can be removed to kill the dinos.

Is it the Caribbsea special grade ? That’s what he and I are using.
