Hi all
My 8 yo son caught this in a rock pool at low tide while hunting for estuarine (cleaner) shrimps. Brisbane region in Australia.
do you know what it is ? And is it reef safe?

I know a lot of bigger fish lay their eggs in this intertidal zone

Species of bream maybe? If i counted dorsal spines correctly anyway. I counted 13.
