Hi everyone!

We have been lucky enough to get two wrasses that needed a new home and they fit right in with our other fish! BUT I have a gripe!! Both of these wrasses were sand sleepers.... one had SUPER coarse rock at the bottom and the other had NOOO sand. :( PLEASE do your research on these fish and give them what they need before you buy a fish because "its pretty"... Thank you! :)

For wrasses, it is entirely dependant upon genera. Some require sand, others do not.

Those genera which do: Anampses, Coris, Halichoeres, Macropharyngodon, & Thalassoma.

Good point!. On a side note, My 7yr old Leopard wrasse sleeps "On Top" of crushed coral sand in a cave. Its kinda funny. Actually, most of my sand sleeping wrasses that I have had for many years, do quite well in crushed coral. But coarse rock would definitely be a no-no.
