Plumber new uv sterilizer - will it work ?

Plumbing a new 57 W UV sterilizer on my 220 gallon Reef -Using a vectra M1 - closed loop. Do you think it’ll work? I’m wondering if the pump will suck the water out of the return through the pump all the way through the plumbing back to the tank.

I’m sorry I’m not following the issue exactly. Think you could try dumbing it down a little and maybe including a simplified diagram of the concern? I’d love to help :)
