I'm going to hard plumb my tank just wanted a bit of advice currently it's plumbed using vinyl tubing and it works of course but I want a cleaner look. Also hoping to increase some flow.

Durso is 3/4 inch drain bulkhead I believe. Wondering if I used maybe 1 inch piping with a reduced if that would increase flow?

Also I've read that using 3/4 is pretty normal on the return line but it has a 1/2 inch bulkhead. Just wondering if this will make any difference if it all has to pass through these size holes

Also I notice a lot when people ask how their plumbing is a true Union is suggested almost always. Might I ask why?
