I have all 1" plumbing on my system and it can't be changed. Looking to buy the EcoTech Vectra M2 for an upgrade to be used as an external return pump. The specs say the inlet on the pump is 1 1/4" and the output is 1". Anybody know why the inlet is 1 1/4"? If I reduce the pump inlet down to 1" to fit my plumbing, will I still be getting the full flow of the M2? Thanks.

My take, just remember I am no pro. If you have a decent head pressure, the pump will not be able to pump more than the intake can handle, with that being said, the 1 inch intake would be fine. But if you have low head pressure, yes it will constrict potential output
