I would double up on the amount of PVC you think you need. You never know what mistakes you may make when measuring and cutting.

Do you have a pump in mind? Typically, the pump manufacturer will list GPH ratings based on head hight.

So a pump may have a 1000GPH rating at a head hight of 36 inches, but at 24 inches, it may be rated at 1200GPH.

(Head Hight = the height from the pump up to where it returns to the tank).

I have a 48x24x24 120 gal tank, so what is yours, around 90 to 100? Originally I had a Sicce 5.0 and it was more than enough and it is a pump that is known for reliability. The Sicce 5.0 pumps roughly 1321 GPH.

On a 80 gallon tank you really don't need more than 500gph at the tank ( after headloss)
