On second thought it's definitely possible that Parker fitting I listed may work. The supply threads will be three-quarter inch garden threads, but three-quarter inch plumbing down the line is not required. For example, here is what the manufacturer installer installed with my relatively-new washer:

At most, that's 1/2" tubing - can't see a label to confirm.

The Parker fitting does use 3/8 inch which is very close to half-inch, so it may work just fine. The difference may only be that the washer takes slightly longer to fill, depending on water pressure.

Not ideal, but if you have trouble finding a size larger than 3/8, it may actually be a good option.

From post # 16 above

The washing machine connects to one side and the hose thread adapter on the RO/DI inlet fits on the other. With the built in ball valves you can isolate one line or the other for maintenance or just shut the RO off if you choose. Doesn't get any simpler than that, I have been using this fitting for almost 20 years now.

Definitely a good option. The most economical if you already have the push-fit adapter. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

My only beef with those splitters are the shut off controls. Way too difficult to operate.

If you don't have direct access to the front, you could have major difficulties turning one on or off. Works ok for me, but it's right in my face (don't laugh):

I still skin my knuckles occasionally when opening a valve.

I got a Ray Paddula (Kmart, lifetime warranty) brand four way splitter for the outside that uses a lever action shut off. I like that much, much better, but I don't think they make a simple wye:

Get a bronze garden hose wye like this:
http://www.target.com/p/melnor-metal-2-way-hose-valve/-/A-50244948?ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=50244948&ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Patio+Garden+Shopping&adgroup=SC_Patio+Garden&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9030004&gclid=Cj0KEQiAno60BRDt89rAh7qt-4wBEiQASes2tZptXqIep8nPwbbVuwNoQ8bCHHjN6tobus2gLIwYAdUaAj1d8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

They have them at any hardware store or WalMart. Pull the washing machine out and install it on the cold water line so it feeds the washer and the RO/DI. When you run the waste line make sure it isn't jammed down the drain, place it so it is either suspended above the drain or just barely in it so there is no chance of backflow. Or there are a lot of air gap devices such as some pictured here and some of the newer wall boxes behind the washer have a built in place for an RO waste line with an air gap to meet code.

Move the unit in the home and its much easier to hook the RO only side to a drinking water kit, icemaker and refrigerator drinking water tap in the door. Getting dual use out of the RO/DI make it a much easier sell to the boss! We have had RO drinking water for over 15 years now and the clear ice cubes it makes are amazing.

It is not recommended to use the water from our ro/di units for drinking water. Apparently the deionizing resin is not food grade.

You don't drink the DI even though many many people do with zero health effects. If you want to use it for drinking as we have done for between 15 and 20 years now is to install a tee and check valve between the RO and the DI. Vendors tell you not to bring DI because there are no DI resins that carry the ANSI/NSF approvals. Not because it is not safe, only that is is a very expensive and time consuming approval to obtain and DI was never intended for drinking since it has a bland or blah taste while RO only before the DI tastes great.

Wife said okay to put RO/DI in the laundry room and plumb with the washer. She was actually all about using the waste water to fill the washing machine! Problem solved thank you all for your input, and friendly advice.
Cheers!
