Hmmm K&N? Isn't that filter oiled?

Yes, but you don't have too. A lot of people use way,...too much. All you need is a light coating. On the engine dyno we tested several filters.

The less amount of robbing hp & tq was a new white paper filter.
The most was a heavy oiled filter.
In between was a lightly oiled filter.

Anyway, if used for our aquarium's air, the paper would not impede much in flow.

I'm adding the new stacked EFI this year. Hope to gain 25-40 HP/TQ. We'll see on the chassis dyno.
The 4" 340 stainless steel side pipes that I build for Cobras, Vetts and Hot Rods gained 26 ft lbs and 18 HP on my engine.

That is pretty, even the girl. Get a fuel injection setup off a supermodified that runs at oswego speedway for that cobra. You'll have a 1000 hp if you call Kevin Enders in Phoenix NY.

We gotta have some from of racing, it's in our blood buddy. Seriously, even with great sponsors,...I'm sure we spent six numbers of our own racing the sprints, and don't regret it at all ! Or the Cobra. We thought about building a 800 HP fuel injected motor for the Cobra, but we wanted mild manners on the street and traveling, for decent fuel usage,...ya know lol

But remember, light weight, short wheelbase, and narrow track width, my HP & TQ in a Cobra is exciting enough.
10.38 @ 134 mph.
Kansas Motor Speedway - 164 mph.

What was your engine rules ?

We had to be carburated, 467 CI., and weigh 2500 lbs at the end of the race w/ driver. I agree. I spent more on racing than the house I live in. It was double bad for the farm though. My brother raced also, so 2 cars in the farm shop all week. We had Enders or Mastin engines, with carburetors built in Alabama by Shannon Rapture. My poor girlfriend takes the, I don't know what to call it retired from racing abuse, very well. I have a 3 and a 5 to grow into little racers.

I'm an auto tech so I know about K&N, my point was I don't want to use an oiled filter on a skimmer intake. The second one posted wasn't oiled yet.

Man, bent the header backwards !!!
I guess that's what happens when you race your car in a farm field (instead of a race track) hitting cow's !

That engine pic is off a supermodified from Oswego speedway. They turn the header up like that so it doesn't go over the drivers legs out to the right or get bent with contact. The engine is offset, so when a u joint breaks, so does your left arm or elbow.

So cool. They used to be on tv a lot and loved them. If I remember correctly, their faster than the Indy cars. I think Sammy Swindell raced one for a kick.
