Today I dipped my clam in fresh water for a second time in two weeks, 15 minutes first time and 25 minutes this time. Will it ever get better? What is the success rate of this procedure? I had this clam for 2 years now, 6" in length. Is there a medicine I can use with the dip? Thank you my fishy friends.

My suggestion is to read OrionN's articles on this website in regards to freshwater dips. He invented the technique. The article he has is comprehensive.

So it may not be PMD!? I see mantle retraction, long strands of mucus. The first treatment I did seen some improvement but was short-lived. Someone mentioned 5 minutes, another 30 minutes. If I need to next time I will do 30 minutes. I also need to get my hospital tank set up, that is one thing I failed to do. Thanks for the article.

No worries. Clams are sweet so I figured it might help, especially because it goes in depth about what PMD does NOT entail.
