So I’ve been having a bad PO4 issue in my 14g biocube. My last tests were
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10.1
Phosphates - 0.84 (yes, that’s right)
Calcium - 495
Magnesium -1190
Alkalinity - 13.2
Ammonia and nitrite are tested with Red Sea kit, the rest with Hanna Colorimeters. I’ve tried dosing brightwell Phosphat-E, and I’ve even thrown in some chemipure blue. Btw, my nitrates never went above 20 before the chemipure, so it’s not that keeping it down. My corals (hammer and zoas), inverts and fish don’t seem to mind the PO4 levels, and I dont have any algae or bacteria outbreaks. I through maybe the meter was wrong but I ordered the calibration set and it’s completely on point.
I can’t even blame overfeeding since my nitrates are so low. And the fish eat what I give them pretty quick. Other than some finer pieces, it’s 95% gone within a minute or two.
I guess my next guess is GFO? I ordered some pods and po4/no3 eating phyto along with a nitrate dose so that doesn’t bottom out.
I kind of have the “if it’s not broke, dont fix it” attitude but I know it’s going to be an issue in the long run if I don’t get it in check.
Thoughts?
