PO4 - Phosphate - GFO Exhaustion Help

Greetings, Looking for expert chemistry folks to weigh-in

225G System

Start: PO4 with Hanna read .90ppm

Implemented: 2 cups of BRS Supply High Capacity GFO into media reactor.

One week into running….

PO4 reduced to ~ .30ppm and seems stagnant after 3 consecutive days of measuring at this level.

How do you know when the GFO is exhausted?

I do not recommend dropping phosphate nearly that fast.

That said, measuring the effluent of the GFO reactor for phosphate and comparing that values to the tank value will tell you when it is depleted.

It will deplete very fast at that high phosphate level.
