Pod quality observations from Algae Barn vs Reef Nutrition

I couldn't agree with this more. I bought pods from a company to start my own cultures and found out (via microscope) that 90% of it was rotifers instead of pods. I informed them of this. They haven't changed a thing. I see them touting their density on social media all the time and just bite my tongue.

It sounds like you're spending a lot of money to feed these fish by buying populations of copepods that your tank can't support...why not invest in the effort to culture your own to save a lot of money and avoid risking being sold too few copepods?

I personally never bought a pod in my life. But my tank grows so many that I have to store them here.

I grow pods and I agree that a pod hotel, refugium, or cryptic area is much better than a resupply. Give pods somewhere to grow and they will repopulate on their own.
