Maybe find someone in a local reef club that has some Chaeto. It is usually packed with them.

there's already a thread about reefs2go's pods, it's pretty recent... and usually it takes people a little longer than half an hour to respond to threads. I'm sure a few people will have something to say by tomorrow...

Just a heads up, I had a major problem with amphipods eating my corals. They killed most of my scolly"s. interceptor finally took care of the problem. I"d stick with the cope"s.

Sorry to hear about your issues. There are many different types of amphipods. I would highly doubt that any vendor would be selling a detrimental type.

any local florida reefers selling amphipods or copepods... ive also seen the reef nutrition: live copepods in a bottle for sale, should i just buy them and dump the whole thing in my tank and hope they start reproducing?

i plan on using them mostly as a CuC/food for my goby and i plan on getting a pair of pipefish in the near future so i think it would be a good idea to start a good food source for them early.. plus it couldnt hurt to add some biodiversity to my tank.. =] plus i wanted to add them to 2 of my other tanks, for the same reasons.. thats why i wanted about 300..

seems like a reasonable site but 20$ for 20 specimens seems a lil rediculous, seeing how reefs2go sells 500 BOGO for 20$... i mean i know reefs2go has a bad rep, but i think id rather take the chance and spend 20$ at reefs2go(which is in florida) than waste my money on an expensive meal for my fish that i also have to pay rediculous shipping on...

im just looking for maybe a local source/reefer that maybe breeds these or has a huge population and wouldnt mind selling 200-300 for a reasonable price..

as mentioned you could just get some chaeto. you don't have to add it directly to your main tank; with a small tank, cheap light and air stone you could cultivate your own population. they tend to grow and reproduce quickly.
you can also train your pipes to eat prepared/frozen. When I had a pair of blue-stripes they readily ate frozen mysis.

well i have no friends on here willing to send me any.. =[ poor me
plus i dont have an extra tank available, trust me i definitely considered that... i figured i buy 100 for each of my tankS, and a decent amount would live and thrive...
but yea im aware of training them to feed on frozen foods, but id rather them eat live foods they have to hunt down in the tank..
