Hi -

I just got a Tunze 3181 algae reactor. I was thinking of adding pods as one would in a reugium. Will this have the same effect, as in, will they make their home there, occasionally finding their way to the display? Will harvesting the chaeto decimate their population? I was thinking of giving any harvested chaeto a quick squeeze in the AIO chamber or display before tossing it. Thoughts?

Thanks.

you'll probably have a nice population of pods in your chaeto. Usually amphipods for me.
a quick shake into tank water and yes, your fish will enjoy the snack.
If you don't rip out all the algae at once, you'll still have pods in there next time you harvest.
