Northern KY/Cincinnati- there are 4 that I've been to: World of Pets, Discover Aquatics, Monfort Aquarium & Pets, & Aquarium Artisans. There's also a couple I haven't made it to. Besides that there are probably another 1/2 dozen within 90 minutes of me. They are all on a list to visit in the near future.

Armco Aquatics is probably the closest to me. Clean, nice little setup they have going. Primarily catering to setup and maintenance of tanks, but they'll let the locals in when they're in the shop and every Saturday :) good pricing too!

Nearest saltwater store is 100 miles one way it's called Greentree Pet Center And from the fish store parking lot it's about a 1-minute walk to Bass Pro Shop.

wet pets and freinds in cannonsburg pa is 50 min away they are fresh and salt good store very high end but insane prices my 90g freshwater tank ran me 5k from there, saltwater only store is the reef gallery and is about a hour and 20 min from me.
Was up in Pittsburgh for this past weekend about 20 minutes from the reef gallery and the only day I could be there was Monday... And of course that's the only day they're closed...[emoji53]

Once an hour drive is taken, many stores within the proximity. Always worth the drive

Reef Monsters and The Pet Shop are under 5 miles from me, RM is great. Aquarium Arts is under 10 miles from me. I am lucky I guess, there used to be more in the 10-15 mile range sadly many have closed down.

There are two... Progressive Marine has tons of frags and lots of equipment, new and used. Rich also does aquarium maintenance so he picks up a lot of odds and ends. Great place!

The other is B&B. They are a full line pet store: dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, small animals, fresh and saltwater fish and supplies. They have few corals but a fairly decent selection of fish. Problem is, I see a lot of ich sometimes. LA is the best for fish I’ve found. Cheaper prices, healthy specimens and good selection.

In the state I live in, in the USA, I feel extremely lucky. There are many many many fish stores to choose from. One sells used cheap parts (ALL equipment you can think of)
But that one is ridden with ich and pests for livestock. Then there are many really nice stores around me. The closest store to me is probably 5 minutes away. Within a 15 minute drive, I have access to 5 stores.

Figuring out the why: Has your primary reason(s) for keeping a saltwater aquarium changed over time?
