poor mans macro

So i picked up a diopter kit and used the +4 and the +10 lens. Not bad semi macro shots for under 30.00
Any tips to maybe get in even closer would be great. Someday ill have the money saved up for a macro lens. The pics are taken with a Canon Rebel XS with 55mm lens

Did you use a tri-pod?
And can you shoot in RAW format with that camera?

Beyond that, just keep shooting....... practice makes perfect :wink:

i tried with my tripod, but i couldnt get the camera close enough. I couldnt focus unless i was less then 5" away from the subject. I can shoot in raw format with the canon, never tried it. I did do some reading and looks like you can do some amazing things with post processing

I have a Nikon D70s and bought the 100 mm macro lens.
I am going to try RAW this weekend and see what it does. It will be all new to me, but have heard great things about color and contrast.
