I think Richard is referring to Dr. Andrew Rhyne. Anybody know him here? Somebody had to know him. I’d love to see a peer reviewed paper about this.
 
Interesting - so then if the above video holds true we call all settle that popping bubble algae does not release spores, and spread....I sure hope this is the case as I accidently popped on today
 
The science says no. End of discussion.
Agreed - the problem is the belief/myth is well established out in the community - I guess it's just a matter of time for the truth to catch up
